1:17SoallthegenerationsfromAbrahamtoDavidarefourteengenerations;andfromDaviduntilthecarryingawayintoBabylonarefourteengenerations;andfromthecarryingawayintoBabylonuntoChristarefourteengenerations.

1:18NowthebirthofJesusChristwasonthiswise:WhenashismotherMarywasespousedtoJoseph，beforetheycametogether，shewasfoundwithchildoftheHolyGhost.

1:19ThenJosephherhusband，beingajustman，andnotwillingtomakeherapublickexample，wasmindedtoputherawayprivily.

1:20Butwhilehethoughtonthesethings，behold，theangeloftheLORDappeareduntohiminadream，saying，Joseph，thousonofDavid，fearnottotakeuntotheeMarythywife:forthatwhichisconceivedinherisoftheHolyGhost.

1:21Andsheshallbringforthason，andthoushaltcallhisnameJESUS:forheshallsavehispeoplefromtheirsins.

1:22Nowallthiswasdone，thatitmightbefulfilledwhichwasspokenoftheLordbytheprophet，saying，

1:23Behold，avirginshallbewithchild，andshallbringforthason，andtheyshallcallhisnameEmmanuel，whichbeinginterpretedis，Godwithus.

1:24ThenJosephbeingraisedfromsleepdidastheangeloftheLordhadbiddenhim，andtookuntohimhiswife:

1:25Andknewhernottillshehadbroughtforthherfirstbornson:andhecalledhisnameJESUS.

2:1NowwhenJesuswasborninBethlehemofJudaeainthedaysofHerodtheking，behold，therecamewisemenfromtheeasttoJerusalem，

2:2Saying，WhereishethatisbornKingoftheJews?forwehaveseenhisstarintheeast，andareetoworshiphi

2:3WhenHerodthekinghadheardthesethings，hewastroubled，andallJerusalemwithhi

2:4Andwhenhehadgatheredallthechiefpriestsandscribesofthepeopletogether，hedemandedofthemwhereChristshouldbeborn.

2:5Andtheysaiduntohim，InBethlehemofJudaea:forthusitiswrittenbytheprophet，

2:6AndthouBethlehem，inthelandofJuda，artnottheleastamongtheprincesofJuda:foroutoftheeshalleaGovernor，thatshallrulemypeopleIsrael.

2:7ThenHerod，whenhehadprivilycalledthewisemen，enquiredofthemdiligentlywhattimethestarappeared.

2:8AndhesentthemtoBethlehem，andsaid，Goandsearchdiligentlyfortheyoungchild;andwhenyehavefoundhim，bringmewordagain，thatImayeandworshiphimalso.

2:9Whentheyhadheardtheking，theydeparted;and，lo，thestar，whichtheysawintheeast，wentbeforethem，tillitcameandstoodoverwheretheyoungchildwas.

2:10Whentheysawthestar，theyrejoicedwithexceedinggreatjoy.
